Mathematics, Research and Phd training
Our project is to develop and strengthen audacious and innovative mathematical collaborations in Arithmetic and Geometry with Central and West Africa, and to train a new generation of researchers in this region who will then act as a lever to train the next generations. It involves researchers, postdocs, and PhD students from Africa, as well as Western researchers, all of whom are internationally-recognized experts. This project is built upon our previous investment in Africa and aims to have a major impact. A large part of our recent activities takes place in the École Normale Supérieure de Libreville in Gabon.
Tony Ezome passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 45. Tony was the initiator and architect of ANAGA, as well as a coordinator of the project. We will miss him greatly and will do our best to carry on his legacy.

Forthcoming
– Spring 2025: a project proposal entitled Mathematics in Gabon for Africa (MaGA), was submitted to the European Commission. It is in the final phases of evaluation. We await with excitement the possibility that this project, which aims to facilitate collaboration in both research and graduate education between European and African mathematicians, may soon be fully approved and awarded. In the coming months, we hope to provide more information about this exciting partnership.
